Dräger is the psychedelic, new-wave child of multi-instrumentalist and producer Spencer Draeger. Growing up in San Francisco, he toured the nation in various acts and eventually after a tour decided to move to New York. Since then he’s produced and co-written songs with multiple artists and worked with various producers ranging from Jorge Elbrecht (Ariel Pink, Frankie Rose), Jeff Saltzman (The Killers) to Dave Schiffman (Black Rebel Motorcycle Club, The Mars Volta, etc.) which eventually pushed him to form the “psych-tronica” trio, The Midnight Hollow. With so much influence from everyone along the way and a love for the 2nd British invasion Draeger decided to go solo and to use his family's old name Dräger.
After going on hiatus with The Midnight Hollow in 2018, Draeger put all his focus on his new project and spent 6 months practically in solitude multi-tracking and overdubbing every instrument completely void of any other musicians to create his first album. Channeling themes of technology and taking a satirical approach to the narcism’s illuminated through social media and how we communicate, Draeger’s first songs take sounds of the past to talk about the future.
