On the cusp of a new EP release featuring Mac DeMarco, Geneva Jacuzzi, and John McEntire (Tortoise/The Sea and Cake), indie-cult favorite and Canadian 90's alternative icon SPOOKEY RUBEN is back in NYC for an exclusive performance at Coney Island Baby

Iconic pop weirdo / Indie-cult favorite Spookey Ruben blew up the 90s music scene w/ his trailblazing debut on TVT Records (1995) incl. lots of airtime on MTV followed by a row of successes in Japan and Europe.  A Canadian musician of many hats — Some may remember from his early days in the progressive thrash band Transilience OR from his short film ‘The Adventures of Spaghetti Cowboy’ (2008) alongside Feist or his musical collaborations w/ Ariel Pink, Porcelain Black — has been cited as an influence by a panoply of indie rock mainstays. Some of them, including Mac DeMarco, Owen Pallett (Arcade Fire), Emily Haines (Metric) and Chris Walla (Death Cab For Cutie)! — Spookey just signed w/ Staatsakt label (Berlin) for a European release / Euro Tour in Spring 2020. USA/Canada: New release and tour this Fall 2019.
